Firefighters put out a blaze at Europa Point Stadium after solar panels on the roof caught fire.

A spokesperson for the Gibraltar Fire and Rescue Service told GBC the cause is believed to have been an electrical fault in the system, when an arcing cable overheated.

Two appliances were deployed at the scene and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in around 20 minutes.

The area was made safe and there were no injuries.
