The Royal Gibraltar Police have made their first arrest for refusal to comply with the lockdown.
According to the police, a 49 year old man was in town when he was asked by officers to return home. He reportedly said he was homeless despite the fact that temporary accommodation had already been arranged for him.
The Moroccan national was arrested for Obstructing Police as a result of refusing to comply with Civil Contingency Regulations. He was later released and escorted to his accommodation.
A spokesperson for the RGP says the case highlights the need for the public to cooperate with the lockdown. The police have asked the public to stay at home and help save lives.
