Flights departing from London's Heathrow airport temporarily suspended Tuesday afternoon after reports of drone sighting

Flights departing from London's Heathrow airport were temporarily suspended this afternoon after reports of a drone sighting.

According to the BBC, the delay lasted around an hour. A Heathrow spokesperson is quoted saying this was a "precautionary measure", adding the situation is being monitored.

In response to GBC questions, a spokesperson for Gibraltar Airport said no flights to Gibraltar were affected. Last month saw days of chaos due to drone sightings at Gatwick airport, with thousands stranded in the run-up to Christmas.
