A former RGP officer is standing trial this week accused of sharing personal data that the Crown say he should not have had on his mobile phone.
38 year old Antony Bolaños faces two charges of unlawfully retaining this data on his mobile phone, as well as one of unlawfully sharing data.
Antony Bolaños denies all charges, electing for a trial by jury in the Supreme Court.
Opening the case for the Crown, Director of Public Prosecutions Christian Rocca said the alleged offences date back to 2022 and relate to a wanted notice and a custody record.
He said Mr Bolaños was sent the screenshots by a police officer who was on duty at the time, and that the defendant later shared one of them via the Signal app with a contact on his phone.
The Crown’s case is expected to continue tomorrow, with former Police Commissioner Richard Ullger set to give evidence.
