A mural lining the wall of Fountain Ramp, exploring concepts of freedom and justice, has been completed. The work, inspired by the picture book 'A Book Called Hope' by Quentin Blake and John Lennon's 'Imagine', is the brainchild of artist Eleanor Taylor Dobbs.
She worked with local children over last year's summer holidays to create the imagery featured in the mural.
Children at her summer workshops were encouraged to depict ideas of hope and freedom in artwork which was then used as studies for the impressions painted on the wall.
Featuring quotes from the children, as well as paintings of sculptures they created, the mural has been a collaborative effort between local children, Ms Dobbs and artist Jessica Darch.
Ms Dobbs is one of three artists chosen by the Cultural Services to create a street art mural, as part of the government’s urban regeneration plan.
