There was a further Covid-19 death on Monday, following the two announced at the weekend. This brings the total up to 91.
Four new cases of Covid-19 have been confirmed. There are also two new people being treated in the Covid ward. The number of active cases stands at 33.
The first death was a woman aged 85-90 years old, who died on the 19th February of a cerebrovascular event leading from hypertension. She also had underlying health conditions and was positive for COVID-19 at the time of her death.
The second was a woman aged 85-90 years old, who died on Sunday of COVID-19 and severe frailty due to advanced Korsakoff’s dementia. She also had underlying health conditions.
Monday's death was 95 to 100 year old woman, a resident of the ERS. She died from a lower respiratory tract infection arising from Covid-19.
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, said the news was a profound reminder of the worst effects of COVID-19 for the most vulnerable members of our community, and urged the community to continue to take the utmost care, even if they have received a vaccine. Now is not the time to be complacent he said.
