GCSE Results - the overall pass rate for 9 to 4 grades is about 80%

The heads of Gibraltar's secondary education institutions say they're happy with the grades their students have achieved in this year's GCSE results, adding this reflects on the students' hard work and that of the teachers during a difficult two years.

The Department of Education has reported a 9-1 pass rate of 99.5%, as opposed to the traditional A*- C pass rates that were reported some years back. It says every grade is valuable in the context of each student's education and represents a milestone in their learning journey.

Our initial reading of official statistics for the Gibraltar Government's secondary education institutions suggests the overall pass rate for 9 to 4 grades - equivalent to the old A* to C - is 80.2%

Prior Park School also celebrated what it said were 'outstanding' results.
