A power cut affected parts of Gibraltar last night at 9.20pm, leaving some homes and businesses without electricity for several hours.

The Gibraltar Electricity Authority said a fault was identified and engineers worked to restore supply as quickly as possible.

Power was gradually brought back during the night, with electricity fully restored to all affected customers by around 1am.

Speaking to GBC this morning, the Electricity Authority's acting CEO Stanley Antoniou said the fault is somewhere between Devil's Tower Road and Queensway.

He said they are working to locate it, but this can take up to a day or two.
