GFRS Divisional Officer, Edgar Ramirez, has formed part of a team assessing the Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service as part of a peer review.
It is the first review of a process which will be conducted over a four-year cycle, with Gibraltar, Jersey, Isle of Man and Guernsey aiming to support alignment with UK standards as far as possible and strengthen multi-agency cooperation in emergencies.
The review comes five years on from the establishment of the Overseas Territories Chief Fire Officers’ Forum, of which Gibraltar is a co-founder.
Leslie Bruzon MP shared his pride in the GFRS and in the service’s ongoing commitment to excellence and collaboration with its peers across the Crown Dependencies.
The minister also said he looks forward to welcoming colleagues from abroad when it is Gibraltar’s turn to be reviewed.
