GFSB Dinner - CM announces changes to OFT Act before election

The Chief Minister announced at the GFSB dinner that changes to the Office of Fair Trading Act will be enacted before a general election.

Fabian Picardo said new businesses would no longer need to advertise in the Gazette before they could start trading, and that the OFT would be replacing the BLA as the official licensing authority.

Mr Picardo also said he was optimistic about the Gibraltar Government, together with the GFSB, being able to lobby the UK so that Gibraltar's businesses could take advantage of UK based funding schemes, which have replaced EU funding following Brexit.
