The Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association has said the implications for Gibraltar of the rise in remote gaming and betting duties are "significant".

It says the new duty levels place "considerable pressure" on UK-facing operators based on the Rock, especially the smaller and mid-sized ones.

It says reduced UK profitability will "inevitably" feed through to Gibraltar - meaning companies will need to revise budgets, investment plans, and staffing requirements.

The GBGA says its board met today to review the implications and coordinate the next steps, with members confirming that the impact is "substantial".
