Gibraltar has marked the Chinese New Year. The Gibraltar Chinese Association held events in Ocean Village, Casemates and John Mackintosh Square.
This year marks the Year of the Pig. The festivities included a dancing lion, fireworks, a Kung Fu show featuring a Bruce Lee impersonator, and displays by the local Tai Chi Club, which captured the imagination of young and old alike.
Meanwhile, pupils in Year 3 at St Joseph’s First School celebrated the start of the Chinese New Year. They attended school in traditional Chinese costumes and shared their learning about China and the Chinese culture with the rest of the school in a special assembly.
