Gibraltar Names Commonwealth Games Flag and Baton Bearers

Swimmer Jordan Gonzalez has been named Gibraltar’s flag bearer for the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, while weightlifter Holly O’Shea will be Gibraltar's baton bearer.

The Gibraltar Baton features a specially commissioned image of Holly’s late brother, cyclist Sam O’Shea, who died in a cycling accident in France last year.

The Gibraltar Commonwealth Games Association says Jordan’s appointment recognises his sporting achievements and leadership, while Holly described carrying the baton with Sam by her side as an incredible and emotional honour.

Gibraltar’s 17-strong contingent leaves for Glasgow on Tuesday ahead of the Games.
