The UK Liberal Democrats propose that Gibraltar and other overseas territories should have their own MPs in order to have their say in the Brexit negotiations.
The party has called on the Government to create new constituencies for British people not living in the UK mainland. An article in the Sunday Express quotes Lib Dem leader Tim Farron saying it is “vital” for Britons in places like Gibraltar to have a strong voice in Westminster, as they are the ones who will feel the impact of changes to “border controls, business access or trade rules”.
The Liberal Democrats have previously promised to fight the next general election on the platform of taking the UK back into the European Union.
