The UK confirmed on Friday evening the implementation of a 14-day quarantine regime for all air arrivals, with limited exemptions as from the 8th of June.
The measure applies to all UK citizens, regardless of their point of origin, with Gibraltar currently included.
Passengers travelling into the UK for medical treatment and their accompanying escort, are excluded, as well as those travelling for work on a weekly basis.
On Friday afternoon, ahead of the announcement, the Chief Minister spoke to the Minister for the European Neighbourhood, Wendy Morton. He has made specific proposals for the possible exemption of Gibraltar and these are to be discussed further.
