Gibraltarian student Aditya Dhanwani has represented Gibraltar at the Commonwealth Youth Development Summit which took place at the University of Oxford last week.
The summit was convened by the Commonwealth Youth Council, bringing together youth leaders, policymakers, institutions and partners from across the Commonwealth to discuss the future of youth development in the organisation.
The objective of the Summit was to coordinate strategic political engagement ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Youth Forum, which will take place in Antigua and Barbuda in November. This will happen around the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).
The Summit provided an opportunity to network with delegates and to listen to interventions from Commonwealth Ministers and other specialist leaders in their own fields.
As a former young enterprise winner, Mr Dhanwani delivered a speech on the scheme.
This was the first time that Gibraltar has taken part in the Summit, although it has participated in the Commonwealth Youth Forum in London (UK) in 2018, Kigali (Rwanda) in 2022 and in Apia (Samoa) in 2024.
