Gibraltarian man arrested by RGP on European Arrest Warrant for money laundering, drug trafficking, and membership of armed gang

A 46 year old Gibraltarian resident in La Linea has been arrested by the Royal Gibraltar Police on a European Arrest Warrant, issued by Spain, for money laundering, drug trafficking, and membership of an armed gang.

Nigel Francis Marzan was arrested at Eastern Beach by the RGP’s Money Laundering Unit. The European Arrest Warrant also includes the offences of stealing vehicles and misrepresenting facts on public record.

The Commissioner of Police, Ian McGrail, said he was delighted at the cooperation between Spanish and Gibraltar law enforcement.

Mr Marzan appeared at the Magistrates’ Court on Friday, with his case adjourned until next week after the documents were deemed illegible, which Stipendiary Magistrate, Charles Pitto, said was down to incompetence.
