Gibraltar's terrorism threat level remains at moderate. 

The Contingency Council met to review the current security environment and Gibraltar’s preparedness for a range of security and civil contingency risks.

The Council reviewed significant international, regional and local developments since its last full meeting on 1 April.

These included the continuing implications of the United States and Israeli strikes against Iran, as well as the resulting regional instability and the potential wider security consequences for Gibraltar.

It also considered recent threats against the UK from Russia; public health developments, including hantavirus and Ebola; recent fires in Gibraltar and wildfires across Europe; and the recent influx of migrants into Ceuta.

The Council said it was satisfied that Gibraltar's emergency services, law enforcement agencies and essential service providers continue to maintain robust contingency arrangements.

However, it emphasised the need for constant review of plans, capabilities and inter-agency coordination, adding it will continue to monitor developments.

It reminded the public to remain alert and to report any suspicious activity to the Royal Gibraltar Police.
