Government revenues are expected to suffer a £40 million loss this financial year due to the rise in gaming taxes.
The Minister with responsibility for Financial Services and Gaming, Nigel Feetham, revealed the figure on last night's Viewpoint.
Speaking to Ros Astengo, he nevertheless said the loss has been more than offset by record tax revenues.
Opposition MP Roy Clinton was also on the panel, as Mr Feetham said further "surprises" from the UK couldn't be ruled out.
