In answer to GBC questions, the Government has rejected claims that concerns from Glacis Estate residents have been ignored, saying every complaint has been addressed alongside the Environmental Agency and contractors.
It says measures are in place to reduce noise, dust and fumes, and contractors will be held accountable where standards are not met.
The Government also rejects claims Glacis is a forgotten estate.
They say it has been earmarked for the installation of new lifts and was the first Government housing estate to have CCTV cameras installed, demonstrating the Government’s continuing investment in the estate and its commitment to improving the quality of life of the residents who live there.
The government says environmental issues connected to the construction works, including dust, noise or fumes, can be reported directly to the Environmental Agency on 200 70620 or by email: admin@eag.gi
