The Government says it held a constructive meeting with representatives of the Council of Europe Secretariat on MONEYVAL, as part of ongoing engagement ahead of Gibraltar's upcoming evaluation.

MONEYVAL is a monitoring body that evaluates how well countries are tackling money laundering and terrorist financing.

The Minister for Justice, Trade and Industry said he was in Strasbourg where he briefed the Secretariat on the Treaty.

Nigel Feetham said it's important that there is an understanding of the scale of the changes underway.

He added the Government will continue to engage openly and positively to ensure Gibraltar's evaluation is informed, balanced, and reflective of the Rock's evolving framework.

The Government reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest international standards and to working collaboratively with international partners throughout the evaluation process.
