The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority has set up an online portal for data on electromagnetic field levels, following an investment in equipment to monitor these levels of emissions from transmitters around Gibraltar. The GRA says it is responsible for the management of the radio spectrum on the Rock: ensuring all licensed and licence-exempt transmitters comply with guidelines adopted by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection.
The GRA says the equipment will complement its existing spectrum analysers; its initial investment consists of four fixed monitoring units, an indoor unit, and a hand-held portable unit. These will be able to monitor EMF levels in the frequency band used for mobiles, radar, Wi-Fi and broadcasting services, both locally and and from neighbouring countries.
The online portal can be accessed through the GRA's website, and at https://monitoring.wavecontrol.com/en/public/gibraltar-regulatory-authority/
