The GSD has pledged to introduce a mental health budget and specially designated mental health A&E service if elected into Government.
In a press conference deliberately timed to coincide with World Mental Health Day, the Party says it would structure a radical, comprehensive and integrated mental health strategy. It would also set up a Care Quality Commission to independently monitor and audit standards.
On the subject of Abortion, Party Leader Keith Azopardi re-stated the GSD's position that it would repeal the July 2019 law introduced by the GSLP/Liberals. However, during press questions, Mr Azopardi said counselling and means-tested financial support would be available to support women during and after pregnancy, if needed.
