GSD receives confidential briefing on treaty text ahead of its public release

The Chief Minister has spent Tuesday afternoon briefing the Opposition Leader and members of his shadow cabinet on the final draft of the Treaty, ahead of its public release.

Keith Azopardi arrived at No.6 Convent Place at 3pm accompanied by Damon Bossino and Roy Clinton.

Mr Azopardi had previously criticised the Government's lack of engagement, saying the GSD had not seen a single page of the Treaty text.

The briefing was agreed on a confidential basis, with the Attorney General and Deputy Chief Minister also present.

The Chief Minister has described the meeting as very cordial and lengthy, during which they were able to take Parliamentary colleagues through the settled text and discuss the Parliamentary process they envisage for the debate on the Treaty text.
