Over the next 200 days, the GSD will begin to roll out its policy commitments ahead of a future general election. This was announced by party leader, Keith Azopardi, who added the GSD would also review its party constitution, and establish a committee to oversee any structural changes.
In a statement, Keith Azopardi said the first 100 days of his leadership had seen the start of programmes to rethink policy and reach out to the community, with a Members Focus Group briefed on the work already done.
Over the next 200 days, Mr Azopardi said, the party will reaffirm its core values and objectives after discussion among the executive and consultation with the members. The party will also review its constitution towards modernising it, and establish a Change Committee. The GSD aims to encourage greater participation of new and former members, and be more active through its communications strategy.
Keith Azopardi said he believes the GSD has been stabilised, adding work will continue to transform it into a more dynamic and fresher alternative to the Government by the next election.
