The GSD says listening to the advice of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation is hardly a populist anti-vaxxer conspiracy, and says Together Gibraltar's accusations are absurd, hysterical and authoritarian.
The Opposition party says the JCVI is the highest body tasked with making scientific recommendations in the UK, and adds that in the case of 12 to 15 year olds, it has not recommended vaccination. It says this is not a case of "asking untrained people to make their own minds on complex science" and asks Together Gibraltar if it would ignore this advice.
The GSD says it has encouraged the vaccination of vulnerable children and the adult population, and all GSD MPs are vaccinated, and says to be branded conspiracy theorists is nothing more than an unbelievable tirade, worthy only of a party that has failed to understand the actual advice, who wants to say anything on the subject irrespective of its recklessness.
It says it will continue to respect the rights of those who decide not to be vaccinated, but says this has nothing to do with the issue of vaccinating 12 to 15 year olds.
