Guardia Civil vessel chases small pleasure craft into Gibraltar waters after boat failed to stop

A Guardia Civil vessel chased a small pleasure craft into Gibraltar waters this morning after the boat failed to stop.

In reply to GBC questions, the Government says HMC Searcher intercepted the vessel at Eastern Beach and took control of the boat and its two occupants.

The Royal Navy and the Defence Police were also at the scene.

The man and woman were taken to the Customs Marine Base, where they were searched alongside the vessel. 

Both occupants were later released, with Customs saying nothing incriminating was found and there is no ongoing investigation.
