Health Minister accuses GSD of irresponsible point scoring over CCU

The Health Minister believes her Shadow has been irresponsible in trying to score political points with the Critical Care Unit, the hospital’s most sensitive ward.

Gemma Arias Vasquez says she has always sought dialogue with Joelle Ladislaus, but believes the Opposition MP has been misinformed or is manipulating the sentiments of staff members.

The Health Minister believes her Shadow was referring to a general meeting on the CCU’s future, attended by more than 20 individuals - not a meeting about staff conduct.

She says the GHA is committed to openness, transparency and proper procedure.

Ms Arias Vasquez says Ms Ladislaus should not have suggested she provided an incorrect answer in Parliament and should apologise.
