Historian Joe Brugada 'delighted' to receive award from Catalan cultural centre in Barcelona

Historian Joe Brugada says he's delighted to have received an award from a Catalan cultural centre in Barcelona.

The award - from the Instituto de Projecció Exterior de la Cultura Catalana (IPECC) - recognises his lifelong dedication to promoting Catalunya.

Last summer, he helped the cultural centre present the Mayor Carmen Gomez with a plaque commemorating the two companies of Catalan troops who helped the Anglo-Dutch force capture the Rock in 1704.

The Catalans landed at what is now known as Catalan Bay.
