The Royal Navy’s aircraft carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth has left Gibraltar. She’ll continue sea trials and test capability and response in different weather conditions. In a tweet this morning, the ship thanked the Rock for its hospitality, saying she’s leaving, rested, recuperated and with stores replenished for the next chapter.
The ship has been berthed at the Port over the past three days with the Ministry of Defence aiming to invest in the current infrastucture to enable it to host aircraft carriers at the Naval Base in future.
