The Income tax office's cash office is closed today following a break-in over night.

The incident was contained to the cash office, with no other part of the building affected. Nothing of value was taken.

In a statement, the Government said it appeared the intruders were searching for cash, but states no physical money is held on site, nor at any other Government department.

The Royal Gibraltar Police are now investigating the incident.

The cash office will be closed today while police work, but all other areas of the tax office will remain open.

Anyone who needs to make a payment in person is advised to check before attending, or use electronic payment methods.
