La Linea Mayor confident city's concerns addressed

The La Línea mayor says he left a key meeting in Madrid with the strong sense that the Spanish Foreign Minister has taken his city’s concerns into account in the pending Gibraltar treaty.

Juan Franco said the agreement which he once thought unlikely, is now expected to be signed by the end of the year, and welcomed what he called a “very direct impact” for La Línea, particularly on cross-border workers, pensioners, and the flow of goods.

It was the first one-on-one meeting between Juan Franco and Jose Manuel Albares, following earlier group discussions with other Campo de Gibraltar mayors.
