The former International Trade Secretary, Liam Fox is to urge the British Government to merge the Foreign Office and the Department of International Development.
Reportedly, ministers have been considering the merger for months with these plans now on hold.
Foreign Secretary, Dominic Raab told Commons ministers were were preparing a root and branch review as part of the post Brexit plans.
The resistance reportedly comes from DFID, which feels its aid budget will be blurred if its work is conducted within the more political FCO.
