Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst appointed new Governor of Gibraltar

As GBC News reported in November 2023, Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst has been appointed the new Governor of Gibraltar.
He will take up the position in June.
Since being commissioned into the Welsh Guards in 1987, his military career has seen him deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.
He was recently UK Military representative to NATO and the EU.
Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst succeeds Sir David Steel, who will leave Gibraltar towards the end of May.
The Government says it welcomes the appointment of Lieutenant General Sir Ben Bathurst as Governor.
The Chief Minister says he's certain the whole of Gibraltar will extend the warmest of welcomes to Sir Ben and his family in June.
