Lifts at the entrance of St. Bernard's Hospital have been installed and started operating.
The two lifts, which provide access from the pavement to the hospital entrance, are hoped to help visitors and staff with mobility issues in particular. In a statement, the GHA says there are a number of on going initiatives to improve access to the hospital.
GHA's Head of Estate's and Clinical Engineering Tony Dolding says access to services is key to ensuring a trouble free start for patients.
The Minister for Health, Neil Costa added that the lifts will facilitate access to the hospital and the new Primary Care Centre, for the elderly and those with additional mobility requirements.
