A local man has been sentenced to six weeks imprisonment and has been disqualified from driving for three years following an incident on Prince Edward’s Road in June of last year.
Nizar Benyoussef drove his car the wrong way up Prince Edward’s road from the intersection at Governor’s Street at around two o’clock in the morning on Sunday the 7th of June, colliding head-on with a car driving in the opposite direction.
Benyoussef then accelerated, driving into the car again and pushing it backwards up the hill, before getting out of his car and aggressively confronting the three occupants in the other vehicle, causing them to flee the area in fear and file a report to the RGP.
Benyoussef caused £10,000 worth of damage to the other car and did not have insurance at the time of the collision.
