Local schools put their 3D printers to good use by manufacturing plastic face shields for frontline workers

Loreto Convent, Prior Park and a private individual have stepped up to the community efforts, putting their 3D printers to good use by manufacturing plastic face shields.

The 3D printer creates the headband part of the face shield for the GHA to attach the clear screen.

There is currently no lack of supplies but the schools are testing whether it can be done using local technology and how the shields can best be produced to cater for the needs of our frontline workers.

Thirty are expected to be handed over in the first batch.
