A man arrested on Friday after an incident that left a baby in hospital has been granted bail at the Magistrates’ Court.
Gerald Farmer of Watergardens is said to have punched another man who was holding his baby daughter in his arms at the time. The alleged assault caused him to drop the baby who required hospital treatment. The defendant is also charged with assaulting the baby’s mother as well as the baby.
Mr Farmer's case has been adjourned until the 4th March to give him time to speak to a lawyer. He has been given £500 bail on the condition he is not to approach or communicate with the complainants.
