McGrail Inquiry | 6th November 2025, 16:13 |
The McGrail Inquiry report has been delivered to the Government.
The Chief Minister told the House today it will be published in full and will be tabled in Parliament in the next few weeks.
The Public Inquiry, announced by the Chief Minister in February 2022, looked into the reasons and circumstances leading to the early retirement of the former Police Commissioner.
The main hearing was held over May and June 2024, and reconvened for three days in April this year.
The report was delivered to Number Six this afternoon by the Secretary to the Inquiry, Maurice Turnock. The Attorney General, Michael Llamas, also received a copy.
In an update posted this morning on the Inquiry website, it said the Government is duty bound to arrange for the Report to be published in full (minus material which may be withheld under the Inquiries Act).
There were many questions as to its publication, with the Chief Minister taking the opportunity to answer many of these today.
Copies of the report will be provided to Core Participants and key witnesses on a strictly confidential basis.
With the report running into hundreds of pages, the press will also be receiving embargoed copies.
