The RGP has clarified reports of two incidents involving people suspected to be undocumented migrants.

It says officers dealt with three men on the 16th of August near the border by Kingsway Tunnel.

Once their documentation was checked and verified, all three returned to Spain, with no further investigative action required.

The RGP also confirmed responding to a maritime distress call involving people in a dinghy near a tanker anchored in the Bay on the same day.

However, it says they were in Spanish waters and were processed by Spanish authorities.

The RGP has not confirmed that either incident involved undocumented migrants.
