Another Covid vaccine which has been found to be almost 95% effective has emerged.
News of the breakthrough by US company Moderna comes a week after details of the 90% effectve Pfizer vaccine was announced.
Moderna expects to apply to US regulators for approval in the coming weeks and expects to have 20 million doses available there, and one billion doses around the world next year.
After negotiations, the UK government confirmed on Monday that it has secured 5 million doses of the vaccine, which is not one of the six previously ordered.
Unlike the Pfizer vaccine which has to be stored in temperatures of -70, the Moderna vaccine can be kept in standard freezers at -20, or in a regular fridge for a month.
