The trial of 71 year old Randolph Olivero, who faces seven counts related to child sexual abuse, has continued today in the Supreme court with the mother of Ms X, the complainant, giving evidence.
She told the jury that Ms X had lived in the UK with her grandmother from a very young age and that, in the summer of 2011, she chose to move to Gibraltar.
The witness said her daughter settled well into secondary school and made a number of friends.
During cross-examination by defence lawyer Chris Marsh Finch, the witness was asked whether she had ever detected any unhappiness in her daughter while she was living with her.
She replied that she had not, adding that Ms X was always happy.
Mr Olivero faces two counts of rape and five counts of sexual activity with a child. He denies all charges.
