Motorcycle bays are to be reinstated on Line Wall Road, the Government has announced.
Many of the bays on one of Gibraltar’s main roads were removed as part of a controversial pilot traffic project last year.
Transport Minister Vijay Daryanani says the remaining bays had been closely monitored and found to be close to full capacity despite the recent lockdown.
Mr Daryanani added that he had been approached by members of the community expressing their concerns on the issue, and has taken these views on board.
In a move he says shows the ‘Government listens’, the previously removed bays are now set to be restored over the next few days.
In his New Year Message, the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo said he believed Line Wall Road was one of the things his Government got wrong because it misread the feeling of the community on that issue.
