Temperatures in classrooms are falling below acceptable levels according to the NASUWT.
In a statement today, the teacher’s union said the thermometer in one classroom recorded 10 degrees celcius, rising to just 13 degrees after the heaters had been on for over an hour. The NASUWT said 18 degrees is the minimum level and stressed this issue has been ongoing for years without resolution.
For it’s part the Government said all reports of classrooms with heating problems are immediately taken up with the Electricity authority and dealt with promptly.
