New £140K Environment Dept vessel launched

The Department of the Environment today launched its new vessel which will be used for environmental enforcement, surveillance and research.

The new vessel, which has cost 140 thousand pounds, is equipped with radar and diving ladders, and can reach speeds of up to 50 knots.

It has been named the 'Osprey', a coastal bird of prey that used to breed on Gibraltar’s eastside cliffs.
