New Covid restrictions close off beaches at night-time in Spain

If you are heading into Spain this weekend, be aware of new Covid restrictions which are now in effect.

Andalucia has updated these in response to rising numbers this past week.

Beaches in Algeciras, Tarifa and los Barrios , are now off limits and closed to the public between the hours of 11pm and 7am.

The same ruling applies to beaches along the Malaga coastline, inlcuding Marbella, Velez, Fuengirola and Torremolinos.

Restrictions have also been introduced on the hospitality sector. It is no longer possible to eat or drink at the bar. Capacity at restaurants and bars is now also limited to 75 per cent, and table gatherings have also been restricted to four if indoors, and eight if seated outdoors.

Initial plans to reintroduce the night time curfew across Andalucia have now been cancelled.

Covid restrictions will vary from town to town, and can even vary within a same province. Be aware that false information regarding restrictions in Andalucia are circulating on social media.
