New vaccine offering protection against six diseases now part of routine childhood vaccination programme

A new vaccine which protects against six diseases in one shot, including Hepititis B, is now part of the routine childhood vaccination programme. ‘Hexavalent’ has an extra component already included so that children born on or after the 1stJune this year will not need additional visits or injections.

The vaccine, which protects against Diphtheria, Tetanus, Whooping Cough, Polio, Hemophilus B and Hepititis B, is new to Gibraltar but has been used extensively in other countries for many years and was part of the UK schedule from last year.
