A new pedestrian wayfinding signage scheme has been announced by the Ministry of Transport.

It is designed to improve walking routes between the City Centre, the Upper Town and the Nature Reserve by providing clearer guidance for pedestrians.

The project addresses the absence of consistent signage that was previously in place  and forms part of the Government’s wider plans to promote active travel and improve pedestrian infrastructure.

Transport Minister John Cortes said the new signs remove uncertainty and make one of the Rock’s most popular journeys much easier to follow.

He reminded us that walking is one of the simplest, healthiest and most sustainable ways of travelling, and said he hoped the signs will encourage more people to explore the Rock on foot.
