In New Year Message Chief Minister asks Gibraltar to stick together & put collective interest above personal self interest

The Chief Minister is asking Gibraltar to stick together and put collective interest above personal self interest and plan for a better future for our children.

In his New Year Message, Fabian Picardo says this is what must be done now as responsible members of the Community.

The Chief Minister acknowledged his Government had not got everything right in the last 10 years but claimed that when it came to the toughest issues, his team had been strong and effective.

As a latest figure, he revealed Covid spending had reached around £300 million, more than expected.

Fabian Picardo said that despite the challenges, the public sector, Education and the GHA had grown in staff and budget in the last ten years.

He announced the runway tunnel could be completed early this year if the contractor finally delivers on its well overdue obligations.
