The EU is planning to introduce an Entry/Exit system (EES) on October 12th.

The new digital border system has had several launch dates but has been delayed.

It will change requirements for British nationals travelling to the Schengen area. They will need to create a digital record on their first visit to the Schengen area.

Autumn is also the target date for the signing of the UK-EU treaty agreement for Gibraltar. The hope is that the treaty will be ready soon enough to avoid the introduction of the ESS at the frontier with La Linea.
